How to use a VGA monitor and a PAL/NTSC one without switchers
Following these very simple instructions,you will be able to
use a VGA monitor and a PAL or NTSC one,without changing cables every time you want
to switch and without any switcher.
What you need:
- An Amiga 1200
- A PAL or NTSC monitor (as Commodore 1084 or Philips,etc..)
- A VGA or Multiscan monitor
- A videorecorder (optional)
Connect the VGA or Multiscan monitor to the RGB port of the Amiga
If you have a videorecorder with a video input,connect it to the Composite port
of the Amiga and the output of the vcr to the video input of the PAL or NTSC monitor. If you haven't a videorecorder,connect the PAL monitor directly to the
video composite output of the Amiga.
Now when you use VGA screenmodes you turn on the VGA monitor and off the PAL monitor (if you have connected it after the videorecorder,you may switch the vcr to the antenna input,and watch tv in the PAL or NTSC monitor,but i'm not sure this will not damage the vcr).
When you will use 15 khz modes turn off the VGA monitor and turn on the PAL or NTSC one,or if u use the vcr,swithc it to the video input.
REMEMBER: Turn off the PAL/NTSC screen BEFORE switching to VGA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This hack works well on my computer/monitors/vcr,but i'm not responsable if something don't works with yours,or if somethings burns.
I was told that someone fried his vcr leaving it connected when he switched to DBL PAL.

I think it's more secure,but the quality of the output may be minor,in PAL or NTSC modes.
